How we work
Editorial standards
How we research, write, review and fund Credit Library.
Our mission
Credit Library exists to explain credit in Canada clearly and honestly, so readers can make their own informed decisions.
How we research
- We rely on primary sources first: the Financial Consumer Agency of Canada, Equifax Canada, TransUnion Canada, federal legislation and regulations, and official lender disclosures.
- We use Canadian rules, products and examples, and we say so when something varies by province or lender.
- Worked examples and calculators use clearly stated assumptions, and we show our math where it helps.
How we keep content current
Articles carry a “last reviewed” note. We revisit guides when rules, rates or products change, and we correct errors promptly. If you spot one, please tell us.
Independence and money
We may earn referral fees from some providers, and the site may display advertising. Referral relationships and advertisers never decide what we cover, how we rank options or what we recommend. When a page contains referral links, we’ll disclose it.
What we don’t do
- We don’t give personalized financial, legal or tax advice.
- We don’t accept payment for positive coverage.
- We don’t promise credit repair or guaranteed approvals.
Corrections
